Version Information

The current version is MagooClient V3.5.2 (Oct 2007).

Version 3.5.2 focuses on the JavaScript + XML editing capabilities within the Scriptframe and adds a number of powerful new editor capabilities including:

• Auto-complete for XML object accessors: When entering code to access elements, attributes or properties within an XML object, all possible valid property and methods names, including any necessary namespace prefixes, are suggested via an automatic pop-up. This functionality is underpinned by the MagooClient WSDL and Schema modeling and validation engines to provide one of the few E4X editors with proper XML object auto-complete.
• Automatic validation of XML object declarations: Both principal ways of creating an XML object are supported – passing a string to the XML constructor and embedded XML literals. A validity icon in the side-panel continually monitors the declaration and displays validity accordingly.
• Syntax Highlighting: JavaScript syntax highlighting is now supported to provide more effective E4X script editing.

If you haven't yet tried out Version 3.5+ then you should consider upgrading as a significant number of new productivity features were added from 3.5 onwards including:

• MagooClient Scriptframe: In response to customer demand, we've added a JavaScript-based test harness with integrated test generator, editor and scheduler. Support is provided for test assertions, cross-service testing, email notification of test failures and customizable test result export. Full details are available from the SOA Testing section.



• Rule Conditions: Rules can now be triggered by message content to provide even finer-grained organization or routing of messages.



• Configurable Message Notification: Visible and audible alarms can be raised on new message receipt.



• Java 5 Upgrade: MagooClient has been upgraded to Java 5.



• JMS JNDI Authentication: New tick-box option to automatically authenticate against a JNDI repository when performing JMS provider lookups.

Upgrading MagooClient

This latest release can be simply installed over your existing MagooClient installation. All configuration details and messages will be retained.

 

System Requirements

Windows	Windows 2000/XP
Mac	Mac OS X (Note the default Mac OS X JRE 1.4 must first be upgraded to Java 5)
Linux	The installer has been fully tested on RedHat Enterprise and should be compatible with other Linux environments.
Java Environment	The Windows and Linux installers contain their own Java Runtime Environment (JRE 5.x) so no additional Java components need to be pre-installed. The Mac version requires JRE 5 rather than the the native JRE 1.4 on Mac OS X.
JMS Client JARs	If you wish to send and receive using JMS then the appropriate client JARs will need to be obtained from your JMS vendor and installed prior to configuring a JMS transport. They are not however required during the MagooClient installation.
