Java Requirements
MagooClient appears to be Java-based? Do I need to install a particular Java runtime to use MagooClient? Is Java programming knowledge required?
The short answer is NO - neither a Java runtime nor Java knowledge are required.
MagooClient is a 100% pure Java application - this allows it to run on a wide variety of platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux and other Unix flavours. The MagooClient installer - except for the case of Apple Mac OS X, includes its own Java Runtime (version 5 from MagooClient 3.5 onwards). This means that you do NOT have to pre-install Java and MagooClient will be unaffected by other Java installations on the machine. On Mac OS X, a Java 2 runtime is provided by the operating system. This runtime will need to be upgraded to Java 5.0 in order to run MagooClient.
No Java coding knowledge is required to use MagooClient. All of the product capabilities are exposed via a graphical user interface. The only programming which may be necessary is the development of JavaScript code for customized form-rendering or creation of Scriptframe test scripts.
